The Steinway Patent of the Month
Did you know…
This
month in the year 1931 Steinway developed Accelerated
Action, invented by one of the company’s most innovative engineers and
the grandson of Albert Steinway, Frederick Vietor (pictured
above). This patented design allows for the direct
blow action that permits the player not only to play longer without
tiring, but
creates a split-second response to the pianist’s touch – whether a
whispered nuance or a thundering double forte the Steinway piano will
express the greatest demands that an artist puts upon it. For this reason, it is important that the beginner have such a feature in
order to express himself accurately and attain a degree of desired efficiency. At the same time, it is one of the main reasons
concert artists select the Steinway piano without expecting remuneration.
